Karla Homolka is pictured outside of Greaves Adventist Academy in a suburb of Montreal on May 26, 2017, where it’s been learned she occasionally volunteers at the school. Recently on March 22, she helped supervise a group of kindergartners on a field trip to the Montreal Science Center, and she’s also been inside the school, even bringing her dog into the classroom for children to pet.

A spokesman for the Seventh-day Adventist Church stated, “The school board was fully aware of who she is. She is not a regular volunteer, and can never be alone with any children, either in school or churches,” tackling the question of why a background check didn’t exclude her from volunteering at the school. He further added, “It is protocol for all of our schools across Canada, and most of the world, to do background checks, not only on teachers, but [also] volunteers as well as clergy. As I said, she is not a regular volunteer. Rarely would she have cause to go into the school, and when she is, she is never alone.” The Quebec Conference of Seventh-day Adventists also released a statement, which can be read HERE.

Allowing a woman who raped and murdered teenage girls to work with children is just unfathomable.
